Responsibilities

We seek a number of Senior/Resident Engineers, with over fifteen years’ experience and overall responsibility for the management and administration of FIDIC contracts including supervision, coordination, testing and commissioning of the works, with particular emphasis on meeting the contract requirements with respect to quality, time and budget, during the fit out phase on hospitality, commercial, and retail projects.

The key objectives of the role will be to; -
• Establish a construction management plan to ensure all contracts are administered to a common standard and practice
• Initiate and respond to contract correspondence to and from Client, and contractual correspondence with the Contractor
• Review and comment on the contractor’s programs ensuring that they are sufficiently detailed to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the contract, allocated resources and cash flow
• Ensure the contractor liaises with service and other authorities in a timely manner so as not to affect the progress of the works by attending meetings, monitoring agreed programs and regular follow-up
• Prepare substantial completion reports including any outstanding requirements
• Ensure that project outcomes meet the required technical standards
• Provide input to client proposals including bid planning, costing, producing proposals, and provide technical inputs
• Manage project profitability and financial contribution for allocated projects
• Be accountable for the overall success of projects won or allocated. This includes managing timeliness, contract negotiation, project management, quality, project financial performance, risk management, communication and scope management of the projects
• Responsible for ensuring that excellent technical standards are working in the design, documentation and supervision of project work
• Take responsibility for direction of the business relationship and builds strong personal relationships across the business
• Manage and direct business opportunities, develop new ideas and seek to provide increasingly efficient and effective high quality service
• Lead and develop technical capability by developing and delivering technical solutions.

Requirements

To meet the challenge, you will have the following skills and experience.
• Hold either an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Have over 15 years’ of broad, international experience in multi-disciplinary projects
• Have experience of leading, motivating and driving multi discipline teams of engineers
• Experienced with FIDIC contracts.
• Have project management and project leadership skills
• Fluent in Arabic.
